Other than a playground and nice view of a quarry, there's not too many amenities here. The quarry swimming area is no deeper than 4 foot of water. The campground has about 10 overnight sites, most without shade. The shady and waterfront sites are all for the monthlies. Access roads are large enough for rigs but dirt and gravel. No other amenities normally found in campgrounds in this price range.
Price and scenery is everything here. Facilities are not clean, young employees too busy visiting with friends to do much work. Supervisors haven't been seen anywhere in the 4 days we've been here. Sites are laid out backwards, overgrown bushes at your door, mown yard area is behind the rig. Very, very unkempt and no improvements noted on the roadways or sites. There's several FEMA units here but that doesn't bother us. We considered trying for a workamping position here but not after seeing how disorganized it is. Like I said, price and scenery makes this park!
Pool was dirty, P/A systems sounding off all night, along with barking from a nearby pound or kennel. Very dusty and the clubhouse was locked up. This is a Passport America campground so their prices are out of line to everybody else to make up for their half price discounts. I wouldn't even rank it as a $20/night campground. Also old fencing and building supplies laying along the fence line inside the grounds. Water was cut off during morning showers with 2 different reasons given. Patios not lined up for camper use, more of a hazard than a benefit. They are 2-3 feet away from your door and not level with the ground. This campground has only proven to me that 1/2 price campgrounds are substandard and places to avoid.
Another half price campground, raising their prices much too high to offset the discount. The WIFI was recognized right away but severely degraded by evening and almost useless by the next morning. I carry 2 computers with 5 different WIFI adapters, the old Wireless B with an upgraded antenna did best but nothing worked by morning. Otherwise the park and grounds were very well kept. Maps of the area and tv channel listings would be a nice touch since the prices were on the high side.
This campground changed hands early this year and have improved sites with paving and leveling, also repaved some of the roads as well. The small hall is being setup for daily use except when rallies are in. The wifi is a totally new addition. The staff is friendly and all live on-site, including an RV Tech. The new owner seems to concentrate more on the campground and less on the sales as there's very few rigs for sale out front.
